Process Of Pellets Production Line
1 Collect raw materials
There are many raw materials for wood pellets, such as wood, grain, alfalfa, corn husks, peanut shells, straw, grass clippings, yard waste, forest and agricultural waste, etc.
2 Crushing and Chipping
The raw materials used to make wood pellets must be crushed/chipped to a very small size. Pellet users usually use a wood chipper to cut the wood into chips about 2.5 cm (0.98 inches) or smaller. Then use a hammer mill to grind the smaller chips into powder. Crush and chop into very small powder to reduce stock size to 5 mm (0.20 in).
3. Dry small powder of raw material
To make pellets, the raw material must have between 10% and 20% moisture content. Small batches of pellets can be dried in the sun for at least 24 hours. Larger batches may be dried using a Biomass Rotary Drum Dryer.
4. Biomass Pellet making production
Pelletization is the process of compressing biomass material into small cylindrical pellets. This is usually done using a pellet mill or pellet machine.
5. Pellets cooling and packing
When shaped pellets leave the pellet mill, they must be cooled and dried. By using a cooler, pellets can be reduced from 80-90°C to room temperature via natural air drying. As soon as the pellets have cooled, they are conveyed to a packing machine and stored outdoors.
